We dug out our finest masks and capes, put our baking skills to the test and filled our faces with cake, all to raise money for Free Radio Cash for Kids Superhero Day! The Free Radio Breakfast Team even came along to join in the fun and help us raise over £1600 for some truly worthy causes.

From abseiling down a 170ft building to indulging in Krispy Kreme doughnuts – you name it we’ve done it – and its all in the name of raising funds for our friends at John Taylor Hospice. In 2017 we managed to raise a massive £32,727.74 putting our grand total of donations to £113k!

Look up. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nope, it’s the eSpares team hanging from the side of a 170ft building! That’s right, on the 8th July a group of us will be abseiling from the top of a rather tall hotel. Sounds crazy, but there’s a method to the madness. It’s all in aid of a very good cause.

You could say the eSpares team is always game for a challenge. You could also say we’re gluttons for punishment. Either way, a group of us have decided to take on the world’s longest obstacle course, Gung-Ho, a 5k gruelling stretch of inflatable challenges in aid of our chosen charity, John Taylor Hospice. We’ve dusted off our exercise gear and ditched the pub in favour of some hardcore training for this extremely worthy cause.

What are your Easter traditions? A big Sunday roast with the family or an Easter egg hunt perchance? We love Easter for the excuse to treat ourselves with a little chocolate, but we don’t just stuff our faces! We also donate chocolate eggs to one of our chosen charities John Taylor Hospice.

Here at eSpares we do love a worthy cause. Some of you may have heard us mention our chosen charities before: Marie Curie and John Taylor Hospice. We focus most of our fundraising efforts on these two wonderful charities, but that doesn’t stop us from supporting other charity events throughout the year.
Last week we raised money around our office for Sport Relief (as we’ve been supporting Sport Relief and Comic Relief for a number of years now). Here are the three fundraising techniques we used this time around.

We are a fruitful office at eSpares. Yes, fruitful. At the beginning of each week a delectable basket of fresh fruit is delivered for all employees to share and enjoy. With each basket purchase, Fruitful Office donates to the planting of one fruit tree in Africa by supporting the planting fruit trees in Africa campaign. It’s a pretty sound little campaign and were happy to be helping to such a great cause. Not to mention we also get delicious, healthy snacks which make us all the more prepared, energised and excited about hinges, shelves, drawers, door seals and the like!
