During student nights out, whatever city you’re studying in, you’re guaranteed to hear Bryan Adams’ “Summer of 69” in which he states that “those were the best days” of his life – a phrase which many also use when talking about the university days.

Spares aren’t particularly exciting. No matter which way you cut it. I mean you wouldn’t take the family or a loved on one a “spares” shopping spree at the weekend or treat them to a voucher for a new oven thermostat on their next birthday. Unfortunately weather conditions were less than ideal and after waiting in his pod all day, Felix had to bottle it.

My post the other day about the breadmaker got me thinking. Basically, while having the means to easily make your own bread must certainly be nice, a breadmaker is pretty much a luxury that it wouldn’t be too hard to live without. I mean, you could just buy a loaf of Kingsmill. Or if the urge to bake becomes too much, your regular oven is a perfectly acceptable substitute.
