eSpares proudest moments from 2022
December 21, 2022 | Uncategorized | No comments
Another year has passed for eSpares and what a fantastic year it has been! We’ve been able to continue our sponsorship of The Restart Project after many years of working with them, got the eSpares name out there on places such as BBC News and The Big Green Money show and experienced some tremendous milestones – to name just a few!
So, before 2022 comes to a close, we wanted to remember some of the amazing achievements of our fabulous team and take a look at what we’ve got to look forward to in 2023…
Connecting with like-minded businesses and organisations
Here at eSpares, we’re passionate about fixing the things you own and doing everything we can to encourage people to be more sustainable and protect our planet. So, when we find organisations that share the same passion, it makes us very excited!
Sponsoring The Restart Project
And that’s how we came to be a proud sponsor of The Restart Project. Having worked with the organisation for a few years, we admired their passion and determination to ensure people have the right and the tools to fix the things they own themselves. Just one of the things we did to help them push their message for the ‘Right to Repair’, was to encourage our eSpares community to join the fight and sign the petition to make repairing more accessible for everyone. We look forward continuing our work with this excellent organisation in the future.
Sustainabrum
We couldn’t have been more excited when we discovered Sustainabrum! A Birmingham-based organisation with the aim to promote sustainable businesses throughout Birmingham – they were exactly our kind of people. We got involved by sharing some of our top appliance maintenance tips with their followers and also promoted their business to our eSpares community. Read our article to find out more about this incredible business.
International Repair Day
International Repair Day took place on the 15th of October and we, of course, had to get involved! The day promotes the importance of repairing and encourages everyone to adopt a repair instead of replace attitude. To support the campaign, we linked up with some repair accounts on Instagram and offered their followers 20% off everything on the eSpares website, as well as our own customers. We hoped this would kickstart people’s repairing journey and be the start of something amazing!
Spreading the word
eSpares do so many fantastic things, so of course, we want to shout about it! And, we couldn’t be prouder that these big organisations wanted to shout about it too!
BBC News
It’s safe to say we were over the moon when journalist, Suzanne Bearne wanted to include eSpares in her article for BBC News! The piece discussed the rise of repairing in the current climate with eSpares’ Head of Brand, Adam Casey, adding how we have seen a rise in interest in repairing over the previous months and how people can start their repair journey with eSpares.
The Big Green Money Show
In yet another collaboration with the BBC, eSpares featured on The Big Green Money show with hosts Deborah Meaden and Felicity Hannah. During the show, Adam Casey, our Head of Brand, took to the mic to discuss all things related to appliance care, the benefits of repairing over replacing, our resources and plenty more. Just another chance for us to spread the wonderful word of repairing.
The Restart Project Podcast
Starting to get used to the limelight, eSpares featured on another podcast with The Restart Project. Here, our Marketing Manager, Eleanor Paice and Social Media Manager, Mariya Peynova answered listeners burning questions on repairing and shared some helpful hints and tips for maintaining your appliances so they last for a lot longer.
Metro & Women’s Own
A few of our helpful energy-saving tips were picked up by journalists from big names such as the Metro and Women’s Own! We were so proud that our advice could reach a wider audience and we hope it helped many people save on their energy bills.
New for 2022
2022 was also the year we launched a new channel, gave ourselves a refresh and even launched a new product!
TikTok
eSpares is on TikTok! As our super successful YouTube channel was thriving, it made sense to delve into the world of short videos on TikTok. We created bite-sized versions of our how-to videos and offered tips and tricks to help people keep their appliances working.
Launching Instagram Reels
Seeing TikTok take off, we wanted these videos to reach an even wider audience, so we also launched short videos on our Instagram channel too with the creation of Instagram Reels.
eSpares Tumble Dryer Wool Balls
Energy saving was fast becoming the topic of the moment with price rises and the rising cost of living on its way. So, we created a product to help – eSpares tumble dryer wool balls! These handy balls are made from 100% wool and come in fully recyclable packaging, so not only help to save money on energy bills by cutting down drying time but help the planet too.
New homepage
It’s not a new year without a refresh! So that’s exactly what we did to our eSpares homepage. Making it even more accessible and even easier for customers to find what they are looking for, our homepage took on a new and fresh look with lots of new and exciting features arriving with it.
Big wins
We’re also super proud to say that eSpares hit some incredible milestones in 2022 and we couldn’t be prouder of the team involved to make these possible.
100 million YouTube views
Our eSpares how-to YouTube channel hit a whopping 100 million views! That’s potentially 100 million times that our YouTube channel has helped someone diagnose, fix or maintain their household appliances and this alone makes us super proud of what we do.
350,000 TrustPilot Reviews
We truly value what our customers have to say, so for our TrustPilot reviews to have reached 350,000 with a rating of 4.7 is a huge thing for us! Please continue to give us valuable feedback so we can keep on growing and improving, we really do appreciate it.
Giving back
Our eSpares community mean the world to us! So we couldn’t be successful without giving something back to them. Here are a few things we did this year to help our customers as best we can.
Top 50 energy-saving tips
Energy price rises saw a lot of people struggling. So, we wanted to use our expertise to help people save as much as possible on their energy bills. And, being appliance experts, we’re pretty good at spotting where you can save energy here! So, we gathered together our top 50 energy-saving tips which could help customers save up to £600 a year and provided this free to our customers. We really hope this helped as many households as possible.
eSpares car giveaway
Another way we wanted to give something back was by giving away an electric Fiat 500e to one lucky customer! All customers had to do was place an order with us or tell us why they wanted to win a car. Congratulations to our lucky winner and dedicated eSpares customer Gwen Skillings from Clitheroe! We hope you loved your new wheels!
What a year! We’re so happy to have achieved so much this year and are looking forward to what the new year has in store. As a sneak preview, we will be connecting with some more like-minded businesses and showcasing their excellent work, we’re launching some exciting new features to make fixing your appliances even easier and, most importantly, we will continue to do everything we can to spread the word of fixing instead of replacing and encouraging as many people as possible to do their bit and help us live in a more sustainable world.
Roll on 2023!
