10 things to do under £10 this half term!

Finding things to do and keeping the costs down during half term can be a challenge, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun.

If you’re stuck for ideas, we’ve found some great things to see, do and experience this week that won’t cost you more than a tenner!

Go outdoors

Children Doing Hand Stands On Grass

Ditch the iPad and get outside! Take a walk around a nature reserve, go to the farm or play football in the park. As long as the weather holds up (fingers and toes crossed) just taking a walk outside or exploring new places will be fun for all the family and the fresh air is bound to have them fast asleep when they get home!

See a show

Visit the beach

Grab a bucket and spade and make sandcastles all day long and swim in the sea at your nearest beach! Check out some of Britain’s best beaches to find the one closest to you. You may even some time for fish and chips on the beach for lunch, bliss!

Explore a local museum

Many museums have free events over half term. The British Museum, for instance, is holding free sessions including face painting, family trails, and arts and crafts activities to keep children occupied! National Museums Liverpool will also be holding activities such as storytelling and craft sessions so get down to your local museum to experience some history and have some fun too!

Catch a movie

There’s nothing like eating outdoors in the warm weather! Take your favourite treats to have when you like and you don’t have to worry about expensive lunch menus. Let the kids run off some steam and when they are hungry, you’re all set with their favourite foods to be refueled for a few more hours of fun!

Get sporty

Child Riding Bike

Half term is the perfect opportunity to learn something new! You have the time to spend and no deadlines for packed lunches! Play football, tennis or badminton. Maybe take up some swimming, go to dance lessons or teach them to ride a bike, something for them to enjoy and even create a hobby to carry on when they go back to school.

Visit the library

Story Telling At A Library

There’s nothing better than getting lost in a book, so let your kids experience the thrill! Many libraries hold book reading sessions for kids over the half term, either for free or a small charge. The kids will love hearing their favourite books come to life so check out what’s happening in your local library

Kids eat free

Toddler Reading Menu In Restaurant

Keep a look out food places that let kids eat free or for a reduced price over half term. Restaurants such as Las Iguanas and Beefeater have these types of deals when an adult meal is purchased so treat them to their favourite food without it costing too much.

Find free in-store activities
