When it comes to protecting your loved ones, there is no room for compromise, which is why you need to make sure you have the right household safety products in your home. Three products we recommend are:
Smoke Alarms:
Smoke alarms are an inexpensive yet effective way to protect your family, and there are two forms we recommend you choose between.
1) Battery operated – such smoke alarms are easy to install. Many come with a low battery indicator which sounds a warning chirp. An added benefit of battery operated smoke alarms is they also come with a flashing red light to indicate the unit is powered.
2) Mains operated – although connected to the mains electricity; many are dual operated to ensure you’re always protected.
Carbon Monoxide Detectors:
Due to being an odourless, colourless and tasteless gas, carbon monoxide can prove to be deadly. It’s estimated each year 200 people are treated for suspected carbon monoxide poisoning.
Limit the risk posed to your family, by installing a carbon monoxide detector. Such devices continuously check carbon monoxide levels in the home, and if dangerous levels are found, the detectors provide a loud warning signal.
Escape Ladders:
Every homeowner should have a planned escape route which all residents are aware of and understand. On the ground floor of a property the escape route is a given, but upstairs it’s likely to be a different story.
One way to make the emergency escape from the second floor easier and safer is to buy a strong and durable emergency escape ladder. Such ladders are easy to use, fast to deploy and attach to most common windows.
However, it is worth noting, the ladder can only be used once.
With these three household safety products installed in your home, you can rest assured that you and your family are protected.
