We're Running a Half Marathon!
May 20, 2011 | Charity News | No comments
A group of us here at eSpares (although not me, I’m not brave enough) has decided that we’re going to run The Royal Parks Half Marathon in October. As their website rather eloquently puts it, “[The Royal Parks Half Marathon] is one of the most scenic city runs in the world, starting and finishing in Hyde Park, and taking in Kensington Gardens, Green Park and St James’s Park.”
Not only is it an excuse for those foolhardy enough to run to get fit, it also represents a fabulous opportunity to make some money for charity.
We’ve chosen The Children’s Trust at Tadworth as the charity that we’re running for. They are an amazing organisation that helps children from across the UK with multiple disabilities and complex health needs – things like acquired brain injuries and profound learning difficulties. A very worthy cause.
There are currently nine brave souls signed up, and I hope you’ll join me in wishing them the very best of luck. I’ll also post details of how you can donate very soon.
This is Mike. He’s running in the half marathon. In this photo, he is getting ready to do some training.
