10 Simple Steps to Get the Most Out of Your Day

Today is a new day, so let’s make it count! Instead of spending your time stressing about not having enough time, take a deep breath, relax and let us help you out!

Between meeting that presentation deadline to making sure you remember relatives birthdays and finding time to catch up with friends, you rarely have any time to think! Here are some ways you can make the most of your time and feel much better for it.

Scrap the snooze!

We’re all guilty of it! But although snoozing your alarm 17 times may feel like your getting more sleep, it can actually make you feel more tired. Instead, try and get those extra minutes in before you go to bed and set your alarm at the time that you plan to get up. Take it easy and wake up slowly but no snoozing allowed!

Time is precious

Give yourself some extra time. Rushing around and getting stressed in the morning isn’t going to set you up for a good day. If your a slow riser, plan in some time to enjoy a coffee or read your newspaper, or if your a morning person, plan in an early jog or do some yoga, whatever gets you set up for the day ahead!

Fuel your body

Healthy Breakfast With Fruit And Juice

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, breakfast is the most important meal of the day (excuse the lecture!) A healthy, hearty breakfast such as oats, eggs or fruit will fuel your body for the rest of the day and your brain will thank you for it!

Challenge yourself

Set yourself at least one task to complete every day. These don’t have to be marathon tasks, they could be to plan for that important meeting or even to set a date to catch up with an old friend! Ticking off at least one achievement each day is sure to make you feel so much better and won’t make you feel pressured into doing everything in one day.

Be a list person

Lists are great! Whether it’s for work, jobs you need to do around the house or things you need to arrange for your holiday, lists break everything down into smaller tasks which make it seem a whole lot easier. Plus, there’s no better feeling than ticking them off and seeing how much you’ve achieved so far!

Say NO!

There’s a lot on your plate and you’re the only that can do it all, right? Wrong! Learning to say no is an art and will feel great once you get the hang of it! We know there are some things you can’t possibly say no to, but learn to prioritise tasks and see which ones you can delegate to others. Things will get done much faster and you won’t feel so under pressure.

Smile!

Do one thing every day that makes you smile! It sounds cliché but small things like calling that friend or family member who always makes you laugh, making sure you have time to read your little one a bedtime story or going for a jog to clear your mind really can make a big difference to your day!

Get a gym buddy

Exercise can be a chore! Especially when you’re struggling to find the time to do it. The solution – a gym buddy. That way you can motivate each other and you’re much more likely to go if your friends are there! Plus, it gives you the chance to catch up with a friend regularly, which is two things ticked off the list!

Prepare!

Fighting a battle with yourself in the morning over what to wear, what to eat or what route to take on your commute is using up valuable brain activity you could do with storing for the rest of the day! Keep your head clear and your morning easy by planning it all the night before. You may even have time for that extra coffee!

Let technology help you

With technology you can do anything, so why not let it help you plan your day too! There are plenty of time management apps that will help you make your day more productive and make sure you don’t forget a thing. Todoist, for example, is a task management app that allows you to split your tasks into groups, assigning due dates and setting reminders so you can relax and let it do all the hard work for you!

Now have a great day!
