From abseiling down a 170ft building to indulging in Krispy Kreme doughnuts – you name it we’ve done it – and its all in the name of raising funds for our friends at John Taylor Hospice. In 2017 we managed to raise a massive £32,727.74 putting our grand total of donations to £113k!

Look up. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nope, it’s the eSpares team hanging from the side of a 170ft building! That’s right, on the 8th July a group of us will be abseiling from the top of a rather tall hotel. Sounds crazy, but there’s a method to the madness. It’s all in aid of a very good cause.

What are your Easter traditions? A big Sunday roast with the family or an Easter egg hunt perchance? We love Easter for the excuse to treat ourselves with a little chocolate, but we don’t just stuff our faces! We also donate chocolate eggs to one of our chosen charities John Taylor Hospice.

Here at eSpares we do love a worthy cause. Some of you may have heard us mention our chosen charities before: Marie Curie and John Taylor Hospice. We focus most of our fundraising efforts on these two wonderful charities, but that doesn’t stop us from supporting other charity events throughout the year.
Last week we raised money around our office for Sport Relief (as we’ve been supporting Sport Relief and Comic Relief for a number of years now). Here are the three fundraising techniques we used this time around.

It is often said that “charity begins at home”. But yesterday (October 19th) charity definitely began in the centre of Birmingham as over 20,000 runners, many running for various charities, lined up to take part in the Bupa Great Birmingham Run. Amongst the runners was a member of the eSpares team, Mike, who was running for our chosen charity, John Taylor Hospice.

As mentioned, last week the employees at eSpares participated in the be a Kid for a Kid campaign to help fundraise for ChildLine. The daily competitions proved successful in bringing in donations as well as excuses to poke fun at those who weren’t so successful.
