Celebrating Another Year of eSpares!

2018 marked our 15th year in the business, and what a year it’s been!
We took on obstacle courses and dressed up as superheroes to raise money for worthy causes, achieved some fantastic milestones, battled with battery-powered toys to test our products and shared an incredible summer with our customers!
Here is a look back on some of our favourite moments.
Our Charity
Our chosen charity, John Taylor Hospice, provides tailored end-of-life care to people living with terminal illnesses and their families. Here at eSpares, we are dedicated to doing everything we can to help raise money for this truly worthy cause.
Earlier this year a few of us visited the hospice to find out more about how much our donations mean to them.

Here’s some of the fun we had raising funds for the hospice…
Gung-Ho
For the third year in a row, we battled through inflatable obstacles, waded through foam and ran 5K to raise money for the hospice! Altogether we managed to raise £600!
Glitter Ball
We enjoyed an evening of glitz and glamour at the John Taylor Hospice ball! There was live music, performers, auctions and a raffle and £20,000 was raised for the hospice!
Pub Quiz
Our annual pub quiz was another successful event with games, raffles and some questionable team names! All in all, we raised over £1,500!
Halloween Dress Up
Everything from The Shining twins to Chucky walked through our doors on Halloween as the team took part in a dress-up competition and donated £1 each to charity! (Of course, our winner had to be something to do with an appliance!)
It’s not just the hospice who we help raise funds for, the team gets involved in all sorts of events for important causes such as Cash For Kids, Macmillan Cancer Research, Children in Need, CALM, SIFA Fireside, and The Project.
Free Radio Superhero Day
We joined our friends at Free Radio by dressing up as superheroes and raising money for Cash For Kids! The breakfast team came down to join our celebrations and we raised over £1600.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
Plenty of yummy cakes were made and sold in aid of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and a prize was given to the most delicious cake! We definitely enjoyed selecting the winner!
Pizza Day
We baked some delicious home-made pizzas and sold them per slice in aid of World Mental Health day with all proceeds going to CALM – the Campaign Against Living Miserably.
Guess the Socks
We had a guess the amount of socks competition and were left with piles of socks! So, we decided to donate them to homeless charities including SIFA Fireside and The Project.

Sharing Your Summer!
This summer there was a lot to celebrate! There were endless sunny days and England got into the quarter-finals! So we decided to join in the fun and give you some ways to enjoy your summer even more!
Football Fever
The football season was on everyone’s minds this summer! So, to calm some nerves and get in on the action we had a team Keepy Uppy Challenge!

Jumping Dogs!
You wouldn’t believe the lengths we go to ensure you’re getting top quality products! We spent 4 hours (yes 4 hours) testing our batteries against some well-known brands to see how long they lasted using battery-powered jumping dogs! It’s safe to say that in this case, a dog definitely was not a man’s best friend!
Pancake Flipping
How else do you celebrate Pancake Day other than with a pancake flipping contest? Because that’s exactly what we did here at eSpares! Our winner completed 100 pancake flips in just one minute!

Egg Juggling
We had some egg-ceptional fun this Easter with an egg juggling challenge. It was messy, it was smelly, but it was a whole lot of fun!
Christmas Partying
And to bring it all to an end, we got our competitive hats on and celebrated with a team night out followed by some much-deserved drinks!
