As regular followers will know, a team of us from eSpares ran the Royal Parks Half Marathon yesterday. We joined 12,500 other runners to race through the streets and Royal Parks of London. The course started in Hyde Park and took in Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens. It’s surely one of the most beautiful city runs, anywhere in the world.
I’m pleased to say that all nine of us made it around the full 13.1 miles in a personal best time (OK, so most of us hadn’t actually run a half marathon before). There are a few sore and achy limbs today, but everyone is still smiling.
The important thing is that we’ve raised over £4,000 for our chosen charity: The Children’s Trust at Tadworth is a place where children with profound disabilities and complex medical conditions find the expert help they need to achieve as much independence and quality of life as possible. The money we’ve raised will be used to benefit the children in the Trust’s care to help them lead as full lives as possible no matter how serious their disability.
Thanks to everyone who has supported us and helped us to raise the money, with special thanks to eSpares, tdSearch and Electrolux UK. If you’d like to donate to the Children’s Trust, you can still do so at: www.justgiving.co.uk/eSpares
