Fun with the GardenVac

Last week, much like most weeks, we shot some new How-To videos. However last week, unlike any other week, we decided to go for a slightly more off kilter subject – we shot some videos for the Flymo GardenVac 1600 Plus.

Obviously an appliance that blows and sucks garden debris is never going to be quite as ubiquitous as an appliance that cooks your family’s meals.

However, I would venture that the garden vacuum is the most fun of all the household appliances. After all, with what other appliance can you pretend to be in District 9?

Uncanny

Aside from it being fun to muck about with (lots of waste paper met its maker on Friday), the GardenVac is also a darned handy appliance. It comes in especially useful at this time of year for getting rid of a winter’s worth of accumulated garden debris. An added bonus is that it makes a satisfying noise, much like a small woodchipper, when it grinds up the debris that is unfortunate enough to get sucked in to its vortex.

All that being said, we did get a bit of work done on Friday too. As with most of Flymo’s products, it’s a really simple and well put together machine, making Fix Its really easy. Check out how easy it is to replace the motor:

9/9 all round, I’d say.
